14 Bangladeshi Nationals, 3 Indian Touts Arrested for Illegal Immigration in Meghalaya

Security forces in West Garo Hills, Meghalaya, have arrested 14 Bangladeshi nationals and three Indian touts in two separate operations. The individuals were found to have illegally entered India a few months ago and were working in clothing factories in Tamil Nadu.

Attempted Return Through Illegal Routes

Authorities caught the Bangladeshi nationals while they were attempting to return to Bangladesh using unauthorized channels. This incident highlights growing concerns over illegal immigration and the role of touts in facilitating cross-border movements.

Rising Cases of Illegal Entry

According to officials, over 200 Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in the Garo Hills region in the last four months. This surge in illegal crossings has raised serious security concerns, prompting calls for stricter border control measures to curb unauthorized movement.
