Pakistani Rapper Talha Anjum Applauded for Waving Indian Flag
Pakistani rapper Talha Anjum recently made headlines for waving the Indian flag during a concert in Nepal. His act sparked mixed reactions, but actor Alyy Khan praised him for showing courage and fostering goodwill between India and Pakistan.
Speaking on the ARY podcast, the British-Pakistani actor highlighted the cultural and human connection between the two countries despite political tensions.
He said, “Bahut achcha kiya” (Well done) and added, “When I visit India for work, people appreciate my performances. They never criticize me for being Pakistani. That shows love and respect.”
Alyy Khan also cited singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh as an example of professionalism. “He did the film Sardar Ji 3 and owned it, even though it faced a ban in Pakistan. He didn’t back down (mukra nahi gaya),” Alyy said, emphasizing Diljit’s dedication despite financial and professional risks.
Criticism of Aryan Khan’s Netflix Series ‘Bads of Bollywood’**
Meanwhile, Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, ‘Bads of Bollywood’**, has drawn criticism for its excessive use of profanity and unrealistic portrayal of Bollywood.
Actor Ally Khan, known for his role in Don 2, described the show as “weird” and said the language felt forced and unnecessary.
He remarked, “You can’t watch it with family because the dialogues are too harsh. The cuss words appear in almost every scene, which makes it boring and unnatural.”
Ally questioned whether the characters realistically speak in such crude slang. “It feels like it was done only to grab attention,” he added.
Industry Veterans Question the Messaging
Viveck Vaswani, a long-time associate of Shah Rukh Khan, also expressed concerns over the series. Speaking to Radio Nasha, he said the show paints Bollywood as a negative space, which he feels misrepresents the industry.
He highlighted Shah Rukh Khan’s early experiences, stating, “When he started, the industry welcomed him with love. Families like Aziz and others treated him like a brother. This series doesn’t reflect the support and respect he received.”
Takeaway
While Talha Anjum received praise for promoting goodwill, Aryan Khan’s series has sparked debate over language, storytelling, and the portrayal of Bollywood. Industry veterans and audiences alike are questioning whether the show’s narrative aligns with reality or exaggerates for dramatic effect.
