Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated the Myriaw Rural Health Centre (RHC) in the Eastern West Khasi Hills District, marking a significant step towards improving healthcare access in rural areas. This new RHC, funded by the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund (CMSDF) with an initial allocation of ₹38.8 lakh, will serve 21 villages. With the largest healthcare budget in India, allocating 9% of the state’s budget to healthcare, the government aims to ensure better services for all. Dr. H. G. Roberts Hospital, Shillong, will operate the RHC, marking its fourth centre in the state. The CM also announced government support to upgrade Dr. H. G. Roberts Hospital with Laser Lithotripsy services, highlighting the state’s commitment to enhancing healthcare facilities and providing advanced treatment options.
