Counting Underway Across Key States

The Assembly bypolls 2025 are being counted across eight important constituenciesBudgam, Nagrota, Anta, Ghatsila, Jubilee Hills, Tarn Taran, Dampa, and Nuapada. Early trends are already shaping the political landscape.

These by-elections were held on November 11, 2025, alongside the second phase of the Bihar Assembly Election. The polls spanned six states and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, filling vacant legislative seats.


Jammu & Kashmir Bypoll Trends

  • Budgam: PDP candidate Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi leads with a margin of 1,091 votes over JKNC candidate Aga Syed Mahmood Al-Mosavi. Voter turnout exceeded 50%.

  • Nagrota: BJP’s Devyani Rana ahead by 5,267 votes against JKNPP’s Harsh Dev Singh. After three rounds, Rana received 11,581 votes, while JKNPP candidate got 4,280 votes and NC’s Shamim Begum secured 2,464 votes.


Telangana Bypoll Update

  • Jubilee Hills: Congress candidate V Naveen Yadav leads BRS rival Maganti Sunitha by 2,995 votes. Yadav has 17,874 votes, while Sunitha received 14,879 votes. BJP’s Lankala Deepak Reddy trails with 3,475 votes.


Rajasthan Bypoll Result

  • Anta: Congress’s Pramod Jain Bhaya is leading by 614 votes. Independent Naresh Meena trails, followed by BJP candidate Morpal Saman.


Jharkhand Bypoll Update

  • Ghatsila: JMM candidate Somesh Chandra Soren leads by 7,541 votes against BJP’s Babulal Soren. After three rounds, votes were: JMM 16,110, BJP 8,569, JLKM’s Ramdas Murmu 5,278.


Punjab Bypoll Trends

  • Tarn Taran: AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu is narrowly leading SAD’s Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa by 187 votes. Sandhu has 11,727 votes versus Randhawa’s 11,540 votes after the fifth round.


Mizoram Bypoll Update

  • Dampa: Opposition MNF retains the seat. R Lalthangliana wins the by-election by 562 votes.


Odisha Bypoll Result

  • Nuapada: BJP candidate Jay Dholakia is leading, securing a margin of 25,346 votes after seven rounds. BJD’s Snehangini Chhuria is second, followed by Congress’s Ghasi Ram Majhi.
    The by-election recorded a voter turnout of 83.45%, with 26 rounds of counting conducted under tight security.
